**Please be warned, the following post contains strong language and long-winded whinging.**

I'm writing this blog post from the comfort of my parents study in ye olde Newcastle. Mum and Dad are at the tennis in Melbourne. But I had to do some shopping on the Central Coast today for Lisa's wedding and couldn't be arsed driving all the way home to Sydney. So I went in the opposite direction.

It's nice to have the place to myself. I'm going to get up and head to Redhead beach tomorrow I think, if I can locate a decent pair of swimmers.

Far-fucking-out.

It is only January 19 but its feels like longer has passed to be honest.

Living in a new house will do that to you I suppose. I feel like everything is upside down at the moment. I'm still getting used to living at the new place in Marrickville.

My new flatmates seem really nice  - it's just a big adjustment to make. Going from feeling completely at home, to feeling like you're living in someone else's house again really sucks. But all things pass I guess.

I do reaaally miss Seanie and  Harlz. :-(

In addition work is sucking royally at the moment. Every shift I do I manage to find a new and inventive way to fuck up. I feel pretty down about it, truth be told. I need to focus hard on solving this.

Anyway this blog post is sounding pretty angsty, boring and self-indulgent.Time to wrap it up methinks.

(I promise to write something witty and inspired next time.)

I'll leave you with my New Year's Resolution: To sort my fricken shit out.

Not very original.

But I'm all over the shop, so it's a worthy goal. I have begun hatching a plan. **rubs hands together in devious fashion**

MORE to come...

sometimes these matters require
the kind of courage that accumulates
over several days

So consistency hasn't been a strong point of this blog to date.

I've been ridiculously busy to be honest. The markets have really taken off close to Christmas. I can tick off my "next collection" of resin jewellery as quite the success.

I've sold most of my new stuff, and I'm just about ready to start on my next set of moulds.

I reeeeeally need to work on my clay work skills - I'd like my next lot of stuff to be a bit slicker and more stream-lined. Partly so it has a neater aesthetic but also because my last set of mould created lots of imperfections that needed to be sanded out.

Extremely time consuming!

If I can get the clay work right in the first place I should eliminate some of this  extra work.

All up over the last two market days opposite Town Hall in Newtown, I've probably made about $250, which is radness! :-) But my stocks are ridiculously depleted. I need to sit down and do some serious work.

I've been doing quite a lot of snapping at the markets. (tick list 1, item 2!)

See here and below.

Also - big news. My flatties are moving to Cairns :-( I've been running around like a wild thing looking for houses.

After much searching I found a place at Marrickville. Nice people, nice house, ROOM WITH BUILT-IN WARDROBES (woot, I can pretend to be a tidy person again!). Move in Jan 2 or 3.

The question is, does this mean the name of my blog will have to change? I'll no longer be living at Reiby St! I think not. The blog is the spawn of Reiby St dreaming so the name can stay, methinks.

Bring on Christmas and 2010!

I haven't blogged for ages - it's been one nutso month! So I'm going to get you up to speed, narrative style.

Mid-month I went to A Day at the Park in Cronulla with Dave L and the lovely Amanda. The highlight of the day was undoubtably seeing You Am I. I love to watch these guys. Tim Rogers - *swoon*.

Also - got silly tattoos. See below.

Also we had the Birke Jasmin staying at our place for a week this month. Jas and I met over breakfast at a backpackers in Cairns and hung out for a few days while I was up north in September. She's now in Sydney getting set up with a job etc.

What a champion! We had a smashing week.Three cheers for Jazzy Jas. Haven't done such a ridiculous amount of drinking for quite some time.

Since Jas has been in Sydney, I've made the following life changing revellations:
  • The Courthouse has $15 cocktail jugs every Thursday from 7-10pm.
  • Gay clubs are a great place to pick up straight men.
  • The human body will not function for more than 24 hours, on no sleep.
  • Vietnamese food beats Thai food, hands down.
Also, did two weeks at Marrickville Organic Food and Produce markets. Sold a bit of stuff.

People dig our stuff at Marrickville.

More to add later... stay tuned for more catch-up blogging. I HAVE actually ticked some stuff off my first list. I'm about to start my next list too. It's a big one. I feel my next adventure into the great beyong could be nigh...

Must sleep now though...

Today, I did absolutely NOTHING towards achieving anything on my list.

I imagine this will be the first of many posts, in which this will be the case.

Instead I've decided to backtrack and wow your with my crafting prowess, and give you some background on item 3, on list #1.

Check these babies out:

Resin bangles. Cast on my dining room table, and sanded to perfection in my garden...

This photo makes them look a bit schmicker than they actually are. Up close they are a little 'irregular'... (to put it diplomatically).

But they were pretty good for my first go at 'production line' casting.

This was my VERY first go. Haha. Note air bubbles and 'melted' look. It's the new black, I'm telling you.

For more of my crafting exploits, you can check out my craft set on flickr.

On Sunday, I'll be pimping my crafty wares at the Marrickville Organic Food and Farmers Markets, where I hope to commence work on item 5, of list #1.

Note to self: work on making resin bangles more organic, and edible.

Come along and say hi!

So I'm working on my first list, and my plan to start building up my portfolio of published writing again.

Feeling a smidgen frustrated at the moment as there isn't much genuine opportunity for this in my current workplace.

I'm in the newsroom 24/7 but not really doing any active reporting. Working in a TV news production is great for your general knowledge of current affairs etc. I'm learning SO many new things. But it's a completely different skill set to working in print and as a reporter.

I'm afraid some of my skills are getting rusty.

So, at the moment I'm doing some writing for Fasterlouder, a online Aussie music site.  Not paid :-( but free gig tickets and interview opportunities are up for grabs so why not?

Wrote a feature on Josh Pyke last month. Nice guy.

Currently putting together some questions for an email Q/A with Bob Evans.

On the topic of muuuuusic, I'm going to A Day At The Park in Cronulla this weekend. Hanging out to see You Am I, The Vasco Era, Red Riders and Bertie Blackman.

Photos and werdz to come on that front.

In the meantime, here is a favourite You Am I video for your viewing pleasure. Ah Timmmy. **swoon**

So. my first blog post.

This is where I con you with my wit and charm. Then, I trick you into thinking I'm fabulous, and you subscribe to my blog. You tell your friends, and they all subscribe too.

I notice my cunning plan is catching on and I add some advertising content.

Pretty soon... I'm king of the blogosphere. I resign from my job, and spend the rest of my days wallowing in the profits of my glorious online venture.

Yes. That's how it'll happen.

I guess I'm obliged to explain the context of 'the reiby lists' at this point.

It started out as this "awesome idea", in which I'd make a HUGE list of all the things I'd like to do, for argument's sake, before I'm 30. And every day/blog post, I'd knock a few items off the list.

Or at least work on knocking them off.

An antidote to my extreme laziness!

Anyway. I started a grand over-arching list, but it was too hard (irony?)

I ran out of exciting (achieveable) things pretty quickly, and the end result looked a bit pathetic.

SO!

Instead of copping out all together, I'm making  a series of smaller lists.

Rants, pontification and musing may also happen here.

That's all for now. I'll keep you posted (**boom tish**).
